At Luxen, we believe digital wellness starts with uncompromising privacy. Our application is built from the ground up with an 'On-Device First' architecture. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use the Luxen app and website.
1. Our On-Device Promise
Luxen is designed to help you reclaim your mornings through intentional friction. To do this, we need to process certain personal information, but we believe that data belongs to you. Your morning routines, wellness reflections, and progress streaks are stored locally on your device or securely synced via your personal iCloud/Google Drive. We do not store this sensitive data on our servers.
2. Biometric and Sensor Data
Luxen utilizes your device's biometric sensors (such as Face ID or Touch ID) for our 'timed hold' emergency unlock feature. We rely on the secure biometric APIs provided by Apple and Google. We do not collect, capture, store, or transmit your biometric data, facial geometry, or fingerprints. All biometric validation occurs entirely on the secure enclave of your device.
3. Location Data
If you utilize location-based features (e.g., 'Distance to Freedom') or the live weather display, Luxen may request access to your device's precise location. For unlock conditions, this data is processed purely locally. To display live weather conditions on your Morning Lock screen, your coordinates are transmitted ephemerally to our third-party weather provider (Open-Meteo). This location request is completely anonymous, is not linked to your identity, and is never stored on our servers.
4. Information We Do Collect
Luxen operates without user accounts or logins to maximize your privacy. However, to operate our premium features, we collect the following anonymous data:
- Purchases & Subscriptions: We track your purchase history to grant you access to premium themes and features. This data is handled by our subscription partner (Superwall) and is not linked to your identity.
- Anonymous Device IDs: We use device-level identifiers to recognize your phone and maintain your subscription state anonymously.
- Product Interaction: We collect anonymous telemetry on how you interact with our subscription paywalls to improve the app experience.
- Anonymized Diagnostics: With your explicit opt-in, we may collect crash reports and anonymous usage metrics to help us fix bugs and improve the app's performance.
5. Third-Party Integrations
We use Apple's App Store and Google Play, alongside our subscription provider Superwall, for payment processing and paywall rendering. We do not collect or have access to your raw payment information (like credit card numbers). Additionally, Luxen integrates with Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls) to facilitate our morning lock; this integration strictly adheres to Apple's privacy guidelines for Screen Time data and operates entirely locally on your device.
